GENERAL INFORMATION

1. What is ICONESIA?

ICONESIA or International Conference on English Studies in Indonesia is a biyearly conference held by ESAI (English Studies Association in Indonesia), the purpose of which is to give rooms for all the English Lecturers to present their research papers and to solidify the collegiality of all members of the association under its national congress which is held in parallel with the conference. The theme of the 2019 conference is Towards the Future: Celebrating Cultural Differences, which caters for a broad range of disciplines such as Linguistics, Language, Translation, Literature, Education, and Cultures.

REGISTRATION

1. How do I register for the conference?

Presenter: You must fill in registration form in this link http://ugm.id/icon19presenter .

Audience: You must fill in registration form in this link http://ugm.id/icon19registrationau .

Note: You must register and finish your payment before the due date. Any registration after the due date is rejected by default.

2. When is the registration closed?

3. How much I shall pay for conference?

4. When do I need to pay my registration fee?

Presenter: You must pay as soon as possible (within three days) after you received Letter of Acceptance.

Audience: You must pay as soon as possible (within three days) after you register in online registration form and receive notification email.
Please follow the payment instruction sent to your email.

6. Can I pay on the spot?

No. All of the registration payments need to be completed before the deadline, and through our online system. We cannot accept any payments on the day of the conference.

7. Can I register after the deadline or on the spot?

No. We neither accept registration after the deadline nor on the spot.

8. My paper is written by three authors, shall we only register as one team?

No. You can present your paper as one team (notify the committee first). However, each person must register and pay the registration fee individually to secure the seat.

9. Can I bring a companion with me to the conference?

No. You and your companion shall register either as presenter or audience to participate in this conference.

ABSTRACT AND PAPER

1. When is the abstract submission?

Please refer to IMPORTANT DATES section. This will provide you with the relevant abstract submission deadline and submission guidelines, and it will also inform you if the deadline has passed.

2. Can I submit after the due date?

No. Please refer to IMPORTANT DATES section

3. How do I submit an abstract?

You must fill in registration form as presenter and submit your abstract in this registration form http://ugm.id/icon19presenter . Please ensure that your abstract has followed the template. You can download the template here http://ugm.id/icon19tplabsract . If you do not follow the template and guideline, the abstract will not be processed further.

4. Can I send my abstract via email?

No. You must upload your abstract to the registration form (http://ugm.id/icon19presenter). It is the only way your abstract to be taken into consideration.

5. Is there any abstract template?

Yes. You can download the template here http://ugm.id/icon19tplabsract . Please read the guidelines carefully. If you do not follow the template and guideline, the abstract will not be processed further.

6. When will I receive a response?

Please refer to IMPORTANT DATES. If there is some changes, we will notify you by email.

7. I have not received acceptance letter by the date of announcement. What shall I do?

Please notify the committee through email or WhatsApp. Please state your full name and your title of Abstract.

8. How can I submit my full paper?

You will receive an email telling the detail of your full paper submission. It will include link for submission, guideline, and the deadline. Please read the instruction given carefully.

9. Is there any paper template?

10. When is the deadline for full paper submission?

Please refer to IMPORTANT DATES. If there is some changes, we will notify you by email.

11. Will my paper be published in international journal?

Selected paper will have opportunity to be published in international journal.

12. Will my paper be indexed in Scopus?

Selected paper will be published in journal indexed by Scopus.

CANCELLATION

1. Can I cancel my registration?

Yes. However, it is non-refundable. You must notify the Committee by Email or Telephone if you would like to cancel.

CONFERENCE

1. Can I come only a day for the conference?

Yes. However, it will not affect the payment. You must pay in full. Please refer to the PAYMENT FEE.
Note: If you are presenter, you must come on the day of your presentation (Please refer to PRESENTATION)

PRESENTATION

1. When should I arrive at the conference venue?

It is very important that you arrange your travel in order to be at the conference venue on the first day of the event. The conference program will be announced shortly after the registration deadline. Please keep in mind that you must be here at the conference by the registration time.

2. When will my oral presentation take place and how long should it last?

Please refer to the conference program to see when your individual presentation will take place and its duration. A draft program will be announced at least one week before the conference.
The presentations last for 10 to 15 minutes.

3. When do I have to send my virtual presentation?

You must upload your virtual presentation (PPT) three days before the conference day. We will send you the link to upload your file.

4. Which materials will I get when I arrive at the conference?

During the conference, you will receive seminar kit, co-card, certificate, keynotes paper, conference handbook, lunch, coffee breaks, and free ticket to Musical Theatre by UGM.

5. Can I present in some other languages or does the presentation have to be in English?

No. The official language of the conference is English and all papers and presentations should be in English.
